So we went to Moab this weekend for Brandy and I to run in the half marathon! I'm not posting my time because really it's not important. The important thing is we FINISHED! We didn't quit and didn't take the sweep vehicle back to the finish (even though we were asked if we needed a ride) It was TONS harder then I thought it would be. I bought one of those Ipod Nike thingys to train with, so each mile you get to, a voice comes on your Ipod and tells your your time and that you have reached that mile. So Brandy and I had been training off of that. Each Saturday we would go run the Jordan river trail and once we hit half of our goal we would turn around and back track. Well this Marathon taught me that the Ipod Nike thing was off by .36 EACH MILE!!!! So we really never even trained close to 13.1 miles! This is why 13 miles was so hard for me. SO I am for sure going to check it out and get it calibrated correctly.
The run was beautiful and the best part was running it with my best friend (who could have smoked me, but stayed with me) and seeing my hubby at the 12 mile mark. He ran the last mile with me it was so awesome to feel the love and support! My family is awesome! I had so many people there cheering me on and hugging me afterwards! My Mom and Scott,Dad and Karen,Annie,Hank,Lynn,Dyson and Colby were all there! It was emotionally crazy!
Since I am still feeling the pain from the 13 miles I have not yet decided if and when my next one will be. I do want to run the other half in Moab in October. I'm sure I can beat my time!
Here are some highlights...

The before look... Brandy and I the night before. We went to the Ole Tymer in Blanding and had foods loaded with Carbs!

Yes I laid my clothes out the night before... I wanted to be ready.

Me as I was walking out the door at 6:15am. Had a 1 1/2 hour drive to Moab.

I am running...

Still running... see my hubby running with me? I about burst into tears when I saw him!

Finished! Don't we look like we could run 13 more?

Our Cheerleaders!
