Parent Teacher Conference

So.. tonight was parent teacher conference for my 6 year old C (if any of you know C, you can imagine the cold sweat I broke into before going in with his teacher) So I sit down she immedietly tells me she has a drawer full of confiscated items she has taken from C, she hands them to me. 1. an old cell phone that he thinks actually works 2. a super sour sucker I had bought him at Wal-mart over a month ago 3. A miami Dolphins pencil 4. a little pad of paper with blank pages in it that he had written "I love iCarly" in. 5. a swifer sweeper dust thingy..(don't ask I have no idea) "oh is that all ?" I ask sweetly, just waiting for what is next. I explian to her that I have started doing an afternoon pat down before sending him to school, and she tell me she is starting to do an after school pat down before he leaves school, she caught him trying to smuggle a pair of scissors and a bottle of Elmers glue. (this is going great... don't you think?) I brace myself for what is next and she throws this bombshell....
C is an excellent student. Is is reading at a first grade level and his Math skills are above and beyond even what we are learning right now. I would like to give him a little more challenging work and send him home with a higher reading level.
After I pick my jaw up off the ground (hey I know the kid is smart... but the first conference I had with her she told me he was hitting the kids in his class and wouldn't focus)
oh man, thank you C! Thanks for being my cute glue smuggling smarty pants!!

now, D's is tomorrow... I hope I am as surprised tomorrow as I was tonight!
