Chi-Town conquered!

That's right, the Royster's were in Chicago this last weekend, and what a great weekend it was! My brother Rusty got hitched to Collette!
We took Jetblue and had to side track through New York to get there, it was a LONG 11 hours but we made it!

My kids are good flyer's, I'm pretty sure they only got up to use the bathroom 15-20 times each flight, that's normal right?? HOWEVER I do not recommend a 4 hour layover. Please take my advice! We were SO tired by the time we reached Chicago... but you would never be able to tell! Once we got there, ate and took a short nap, Lynn the boys and I were off for a walk around the city. Here are some super cute shots we took.

yes Dyson was FULLY aware that the Chicago Cubs were playing the Cardinals that very day, he got plenty of honks as we walked!

It's a pretty great City!
After the little walk, we were invited to a "real" Chicago pizza dinner and Claire and Jimmy's house! (Collette's parents) There was plenty of food, fun and lots of laughs.. (sounds corny, but it really was a blast!) Colby feel asleep shortly after he had eaten. Here are a few candid moments!

My brother Rusty and I.

Dyson and his "real" Met's shirt. He got it in the New York airport so it's totally legit.
NEXT DAY! We had all day Saturday to tour the city ,but before that we went to breakfast at a popular local diner called Lou Mitchell's They had great food and the atmosphere was that of a real diner, the waitress' were all over the age of 65! And I had my 2nd celebrity run in of the trip! (first was a retired NBA player Kendall Gill) BETHENNY FRANKLE of real housewife's of New York fame. Bethenny Frankel Pictures, Images and Photos I should have asked for a picture with her, but too nervous! I actually almost chased her down the street!

My Mom, Scott, Karen, My Dad and Colby at Lou Mitchells

Lynn and my brother Rick.

This is the best picture I got of Dyson and I!

Next up.. That's right a 2 1/2 hour wait to go to the top of Sears tower (now Willis tower) Colby and Lynn chose to go swimming at the hotel pool instead. Sears tower is NO joke! That thing it HIGH!! They have this glass deck you can walk out on, I hate to admit, I'm a CHICKEN!!

Dyson laid down on it, there was NO WAY I was going to do that!

My toes and Dyson's toes... SCARY!
After the tour we rushed back tot he hotel in time to get ready for the evening wedding dinner and the Tasting Room! AWESOME food!

This is Me, Rick, Lynn, Rusty, Randy and Annie at the dinner.
This dinner didn't last too long for Lynn, Colby or I. Half way through Colby came over holding his head and crying. OOPS! He ran right into the corner of the bar and cut his head open... Collette's brother Adam took us to the ER.

He was soo brave! The Dr and the nurses couldn't believe that they didn't have to hold him down! We were so proud of him! While they were stitching him up I said "well now you'll have a really cool scar to show Hank." and he said "Never, I'd rather just wear a paper bag over my head." He's so funny! The staff there was SUPER DUPER nice!
So three stitches later we were on on way... (by the way, has anyone ever been in a Chicago ER? A bit different. We passed two armed guards wearing bullet proof vest's guarding another patient that was there... we could tell we were far from AF hospital)

FINALLY... THE WEDDING DAY!

Aren't we fancy? My boys looked so handsome!

Before the "I do's" Don't they look so happy! It was a GREAT DAY!

In the taxi on the way! Colby was uber excited about each taxi we would take. He even told the ER staff that he took his first taxi ride. Oh the little things...

The wedding party. We are a great looking bunch if I do say so myself.
HOORAY! They are married! I did get a little emotional, but it was a happy emotional! So congratulation's guys, we sure love you. And welcome to the family CoCo!
NOW the party begins! I love weddings that you can actually dance at. And I also love to say that it was the UTAH peeps who brought the house down! Colby did a few MJ requests so he could showcase his dance moves, he was a hit! So were Randy and Rick! FUNNEST wedding ever! Highlights...

I have lots more pictures of the dancing, but it would literally take me 12 days to post them all.. but you get the picture... tons of fun!
Here are a few other cute photo's from the wedding

I LOVE This picture of Dyson and Collette!

After we danced our hearts out we went on a little trolley tour of the city.. here are my favorite highlights...

Lake Michigan and the Chicago Skyline.

Colby took most of these pictures, he wants a camera form his birthday... I think he did a pretty good job. The photographer that was there called him her assistant. He was pretty funny!

Dyson was pretty laid back this trip, he helped with Max during the ceremony will Randy and Annie were standing. He's a great kid!
Chicago is a fine city and we can't wait to go back! Thanks to all of Collette's friends and family for being so welcoming and taking good care of us!

Now this blog took me 2 hours to do... I'm taking a NAP!

Great pictures of the kids! I'm sad we ditched out on the trolley tour--we missed some great sights. Who knew blogging was such work. I'm pretty sure I have 200 more pictures of Rusty's wedding than I have of my own.

I'm glad I was able to find out that weekend, after being in this family for the past 90 years, that the "family" song is shout...put your hands up and shout!
And, easily, the most used word of the weekend, by a landslide was ITINERARY!
Thx Chicago peeps and Rusty and Collette! We love each other very, very much.
