Draper Temple Open house

This is not a post about how amazing my experience was, it's in fact quite the opposite.
My mom Scott and I took the kids to the open house on Friday night. I was SO excited for them to go! I wanted them to have questions and see the beauty of the inside of a temple. I was gearing them up for it all week. I knew we would be waiting for awhile, and I tried to talk to the kids about it before hand so we were sort of prepared for that. What I wasn't prepared for the the RUDENESS of others in attendance. We got in the temple and there are MANY signs asking for reverence. Maybe some children can't read those signs but I am POSITIVE adults can read. Adults were talking in loud voices, telling there kids about each room (loudly) parents were letting there kids step off the guided tour and were opening closets, stall doors and touching very painting and vase on the way. I was SO upset! I wanted to turn around at one point and tell this mother and father to keep their kids with them at least! I understand the kids having a harder time being reverent, it was a long wait and it was hot in the temple.... but letting them touch things and open doors? It was distracting. I wanted to cry! It wasn't just the family behind us, it seem like no one had respect everyone was talking, everyone had questions (which we were told to hold till the end to try and keep the reverence). I was so disappointed in my experience, and am so sad. Even though it's not dedicated yet, I wish people would have remembered where they were.

That sucks that your tour wasn't good. You should try to go another time. There was one little girl behind us when we went that was ALL over the place. At one point Ajay said that girl is really naughty. But that was it. Ours was really good.

I think being on a Friday night was our downfall. Others have said they had a nice experience. We'll remember that for the next time.

Dang, that sucks!! That happens to me a lot when I psych myself up for something and it's the total opposite of what I thought.. I think after this temple is dedicated they are going to have tours of the Daybreak Temple.. Go to that one, hopefully you'll have a better experience. Have a great night.

WAY OFF THE SUBJECT: Did Colby give you that $10 I owed you for the Scentsy stuff?? I brought it over 3-4 weeks ago. Just wondering..

I am so sorry for your experience. I hope that my kids didn't ruin it for others when we went. They were a little hard to control. but we tried hard to restrain them.
