SO back to the game. They started off the first few innings down, it was 6-4 for the white sox. 56 seconds on the clock two outs and Dyson was on third. The coach told Dyson to run into home while the catcher had the ball...Dyson being the good boy that he is...ran. He was tagged out (like planned) and REALLY confused why his coach wanted him to get tagged out, with 2 outs already. But he didn't question him...he just ran! This allowed the game to go into more innings, giving us a last at bat! Brilliant! So in my humble mommy opinion, he saved the game for the Rockies!

Here is a little picture of my second baseman!
Okay so back to the game. White Sox have the next ups and they score 2 runs... we are last bats, we score 4 runs.. the game is tied. The game is tied, winning run on third, two outs and Dyson is up! OH MY GOSH! Talk about pressure! When he walked up to the plate he looked over to where Lynn, Rick, Amanda and I were watching and smiled his nervous smile. I walked up to the fence and just told him to swing! (Dyson likes to get walked.. he doesn't like to swing, so this was major!)
And he did.. he swung. He didn't get a hit, he kept fouling. But oh my he did so awesome under all that pressure. He wanted that hit so bad! I was super proud of him! After he struck out I walked over to the dug out and all the parents were talking to me about how on he had been and how bad he wanted it... all impressed with him not buckling under pressure! Way to go buddy!

Since it was tied we had to keep playing, Sox didn't get any runs in and we were last at bats..same situation that Dyson was in... but little Jeffery had a base hit and the winning run came in from third. Way to go ROCKIES!! This win gave us a spot in the state tourney in July (hope it's not while we are in Chicago) And we are still in the city tourney! Hope they keep playing awesome, it's so fun to see them all so proud of themselves!!!

He should have got that hit! It's my fault on the choking up part. He was confused on what exactly to do. I didn't explain it well enough. He was dead on with that pitcher!
Dammit all to hell! I'm still kicking myself for that horrible job of explaining "choking up"!
Just a side note: he fouled off 4 pitches all while sitting on two strikes.
Awesome awesome awesome game!! Dyson wanted that HIT so bad!! If he hadn't got out at home there would have been no win. Good job D!
