The kids and I packed up and headed to Blanding for Easter this year. It had been awhile since we had been. We had a great time and were treated to an awesome weekend!
Next stop was Bluff. I have always loved this little pioneer town. This was were the "hole in the wall" pioneers settled. Allot of fun history. We had lunch at the cafe, were Colby wouldn't put his DS down.
Me and my pops, waiting for out Navajo Tacos
We then stopped at some historic pioneer town. Dyson is the the meeting house. Yes he is very reverent.
Colby? a Handcart kid? I wonder how that would have went?
My pioneers. Look how thrilled Colby is. He said " there is no way I would have done that" after we watched a short video on the Hole in the Wall.
Off to Sand Island for some rock skipping. We also saw some Coyotes on the other side of the bank. I guess it's pretty rare to see them out in the day. The boys were trying to throw the rocks from bank to bank... Dyson almost made it a few times. I don't know what it is about boys and throwing rocks into water. I think this was the best time all weekend!
Blanding tradition. We Always have an outside fire and roast marshmallows. We had just got the flames high when... yup, you guessed it. RAIN! It seems we cant go to Blanding without rain!
We were troopers! Making our Smores and getting good a sticky!
Easter Morning. Dyson got a new DS baseball game. It kept his attention all morning!
Colby FINALLY got a skateboard. He has been asking for one for the longest time! We had to go try it out at the Blanding skate park. He did a few sweet moves, then it started HAILING. This one probably one of the most extreme hail storms I have ever seen.
We had a fantastic weekend. It was great to get out of town and let our hair down and get dirty. Thanks to Dad and Karen for the invite. I hope we can make it down next year! Hope everyone had a great Easter.
